Polyisobutylene (PIB) is a non-toxic, water-white viscous liquid characterized by excellent flexibility at low temperatures, attributed to its low glass transition temperature. It is a linear, fully saturated polymer with a highly flexible molecular backbone, providing outstanding elasticity and stretchability. PIB is well known for its strong chemical stability and can be formulated across a wide range of molecular weights, from low to high, with viscosities typically ranging from 5 to 4,700 cSt at 100°C. In general, higher molecular weight corresponds to increased viscosity and enhanced tackiness.
