Product Description

Polyphenyl polymethylene isocyanate (PAPI), also known as crude MDI, is a light yellow to brown viscous liquid with a characteristic irritating odor. It has a relative density of 1.2 (20°C/20°C), a flash point of 218°C, and a freezing point below 10°C. The viscosity at 25°C ranges from 200 to 1000 mPa·s.

PAPI is a mixture consisting of approximately 50% MDI and 50% polyisocyanates with a functionality greater than 2. When heated, it is capable of undergoing self-polymerization. The product is readily soluble in organic solvents such as chlorobenzene, o-dichlorobenzene, and toluene.
