2.Selective solubility – It is insoluble in water and ethanol but dissolves readily in strong acids such as acetic acid and nitric acid, allowing controlled chemical reactions.

3.Predictable thermal decomposition – When heated, it decomposes in a controlled manner: partially releasing carbon dioxide at 220℃ and converting mostly toPbCO3⋅PbOPbCO3⋅PbO, and fully decomposing to lead oxide at 400℃.

4.Reactive with hydrogen sulfide – Upon contact with hydrogen sulfide, it gradually turns black, forming4PbCO3⋅PbS⋅Pb(OH)24PbCO3⋅PbS⋅Pb(OH)2, which allows for targeted chemical transformations in specific industrial processes.

Product Description

Lead (II) carbonate basic is a white heavy powder with a hexagonal crystal structure. It is insoluble in water and ethanol but dissolves in strong acids such as acetic acid and nitric acid. The compound is stable under normal temperature and pressure. When heated to 220℃ for 4 hours, about 9% of the carbon dioxide is released, and 95% is converted into PbCO3⋅PbOPbCO3⋅PbO. At 400℃, it decomposes completely into lead oxide with the release of carbon dioxide. Upon contact with hydrogen sulfide, it gradually darkens, forming 4PbCO3⋅PbS⋅Pb(OH)24PbCO3⋅PbS⋅Pb(OH)2.
