Product Description

Direct ferric oxides are synthetically produced and consist primarily of anhydrous and/or hydrated iron oxides. They are available in a wide range of colors, including yellow, red, brown, and black. Food-grade iron oxides differ from technical grades due to their significantly lower levels of contamination by other metals, achieved through careful selection of iron sources and controlled chemical purification during production. These iron oxides are widely used to color products such as confectionery, pastry fillings and decorations, cheese, fish paste, pet foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical items.

Product Application

Red iron oxide (Fe₂O₃) is an inorganic pigment available in both natural and synthetic forms. It offers a low-chroma red color, excellent durability, and cost-effectiveness. Synthetic red iron oxide is typically produced by heating iron sulfate with quicklime in a furnace, or by calcining iron sulfate in the presence of air at high temperatures. Naturally occurring iron oxides are extracted from the mineral hematite (Fe₂O₃), either in its anhydrous or hydrated form.
